Sking-Aerial

Aerial skiing or aerials is a freestyle skiing discipline where athletes ski down a slope to launch themselves off a kicker (a vertically inclined ramp) and perform multiple twists
and flips before landing on an inclined landing hill. Aerialists are scored on their jumps based on air, form and landing with their score multiplied by the degree of difficulty of the jump
they performed. Skiers begin at the top of a large hill and ski down a slope (known as an inrun) to launch themselves off one of two or three vertically inclined kickers.
They may select which kicker to use for their specific jump as kickers vary in inclination and height. After launching themselves off the kicker, skiers then complete
several twists and flips before attempting to land upwards on a declining hill of prepared snow. Jumps are scored by a panel of judges. The skis used in aerials are generally lighter
and shorter than other skis which makes them easier to control during the jumps; the tails and tips are also more flexible than regular skis. All competitors must wear a
ski helmet while competing.

Dmytro Kotovskyi (born 8 November 2001) is a Ukrainian freestyle skier, specializing in aerials.[1] He competed at the 2022 Winter Olympics.
Kotovskyi's debut in international competitions occurred on December 1, 2017, at the European Cup stage in Ruka, Finland, where he was 32nd.
He made his World Cup debut on February 23, 2019, in Minsk, Belarus. He placed 24th. As of January 2022, his best World Cup finish was 4th
on January 12, 2022, in Deer Valley, United States. Kotovskyi competed at two Junior World Championships. In 2018, he finished 20th, while in 2019
he narrowly missed the podium by finishing 4th. His World Championships debut was at the 2021 Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
He was then 6th in the individual competition, finishing best among Ukrainians and 5th in the mixed team event. In 2022, Dmytro Kotovskyi
was nominated for his first Winter Games in Beijing. He finished 15th in men's competition. He was unable to compete in the mixed team event due to
positive COVID-19 tests. Kotovskyi's first World Cup podium came on 21 January 2023 when he finished 3rd in Le Relais, Canada.
The next day he improved this result and clinched silver.

Oleksandr Abramenko (born 4 May 1988) is a Ukrainian Olympic gold medalist
freestyle skier, specializing in aerials. He is the 2015–16 Aerials World Cup winner. He competed at
the 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018 Winter Olympics, winning the Olympic gold medal in the men's aerials
event at Pyeongchang. In the summer of 2016, Abramenko suffered a severe injury. While practicing on
water, he injured his cruciate ligaments and his meniscus and transverse ligament. His knee injury
didn't allow him to compete whole next season. He also missed 2017 World Championships. He returned
in the pre-Olympic 2017–18 season. There were concerns that Ukraine, for the first time ever, would
not qualify any sportsman for men's freestyle skiing due to crisis in Ukrainian freestyle skiing.
Results assured him a spot in 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. At the 2018 Winter
Olympics he surprisingly became the winner. Abramenko became the second native of Ukraine to win
Olympic gold in freestyle after Anton Kushnir, who in 2014 represented Belarus. On 6 February 2019,
he won the silver medal at the World Championships in Utah, United States. It was Ukraine's first
World Championships medal in men's aerials. In 2022, Oleksandr Abramenko competed in his fifth
Winter Games in Beijing. He won a silver in the Aerials with a score of 116.5.
